Our Facilities

We have, quite simply put, outstanding facilities at Ayletts residential care home. Bedrooms comprise of 25 ensuite bedrooms, two of which are registered as double rooms.  Ayletts is in a charming Georgian manor house, set in an attractive garden overlooking the chelmer valley.  Whether you want peace and quiet or a stimulating daily round, Ayletts is sure to tick every box.

Your own room to make a home

Your needs are our concern.  A good home should reflect your life, and make thing easier and better.  We understand that changing a home can be an unsettling experience, but we make every effort possible to ensure you are able to settle in quickly making a new life where you feel secure and cared for.

The rooms itself are furnished to the very highest standards and have ensuite facilities.  They have points for television as well as telephone.  We welcome individuality and encourage residents to bring as many personal possessions like ornaments or furniture to make their room feel individual and more like home.

All of the rooms are unique and of different sizes, with individual layouts.  Free WiFi is available throughout the Home.

Meeting your specific needs and requirements

At Ayletts residential care home we understand that everyone has individual needs and requirements.  We host a range of various facilities to aid you whenever you need it to provide the most relaxed and easy daily routine.

The building has a passenger lift which provides access to all floors.  The home itself is also completely wheelchair accessible.

Around the home as well as in the rooms themselves we also have a nurse call system, should you ever require help or assistance wherever you are.

We have invested in top of the range aids to assist in your daily lives.  From assisted power-operated baths to assisted showers and electric height-adjustable beds, we firmly believe that every resident should have the right to live independently and with dignity.

We also believe in your safety.  Not only is the home constantly staffed 24/7 but night time checks are also performed by our staff for your safety and security.  We also have a comprehensive fire detection system in place.

The Manager, Sharon Armstrong is supported by a whole range of devoted staff which include Shift Leaders, senior care staff, care assistants, chefs, domestics and a gardener/maintenance man.

We also have in-house laundry facilities, a hairdresser which visits weekly and a regular chiropodist.  We also have a doctor who can attend on-site when required.  Of course, you are more than welcome to have your own friends, family, hairdresser, chiropodist or GP visit you in the home at a time convenient to you.

Socialising and keeping active

Your family and friend are always welcome to Ayletts.  Tea, coffee and a never-ending supply of biscuits are always available.  You can entertain visitors in your room, chat in the secluded visitors’ lounge, or on the terrace, or even take a stroll with them in the gardens.

Residents can come or go freely.  Residents often join friends and family on day’s out, excursions and meals.  At Ayletts you will also have lots of opportunity to make new friends with other residents and the friendly staff are always on hand for a chat.

Whether you are looking for peace, quiet and relaxation, or a more stimulating life, you will never be short of entertainment and things to do at Ayletts.

For relaxation you may wish to relax in the comfortable and spacious day room or in the large dining room with attractive conservatory.  Alternatively you can enjoy the television lounge, the visitors’ lounge, or the large purpose-built and well-equipped hobbies and activity room.

If you are a keen gardener you may wish to adopt an area in the garden to look after.  At Ayletts we will never hold you back and you are encouraged to develop and pursue any hobbies or interests that you have.

Optional activities to make the most out of life

The activities co-ordinator at Ayletts will always ensure that you are invitied to join our events, excursions and any other activities that take place, however your decision to take part or not will always be respected.

The home has its own minibus and residents often visit local theatres and pubs, go on shopping trips or have outings to the parks, gardens, country houses and many other places of interest.

There is also a bus stop directly outside the home with regular services to the local and wider area, as well as a train station which is on the London Liverpool Street line.

Within the house we arrange sing-a-longs, musical evenings, cheese and wine parties, fish and chip suppers, quiz nights and bingo.  New ideas are always welcome!
